Northern Gannets

Northern gannets are an iconic species, surely one of the most beautiful seabirds to ever meet with their beautiful black and white feathers topped off with cream-coloured head and blue eyes.

Years I went to the Saltee islands in Ireland with a group of friends to photograph sea birds. Even though I really enjoyed the puffins, guillemots and razorbills, nothing could have prepared me for the beauty of the Gannet colony. I was so flabbergasted that I was not able to make a single good image that first time. After coming back home, I had enough time to think of the wasted opportunities. I went back two more times with ideas in my mind to create images that would do justice to these amazing birds.
