Netherlands
I moved from Belgium to the Netherlands in 1998. At the time, the Netherlands were one of the leading countries when it came to nature conservation. Many conservation organisations were working to create a strong network of resilient nature reserves throughout the country.
Since then, a lot has changed. Conservation is no longer a priority, and agricultural development on an industrial scale is wreaking havoc on what is left of our natural environment.
Fortunately, there are still beautiful areas to visit, and despite plummeting biodiversity, there are always interesting photographic subjects.
I am lucky to work with Brabants Landschap, a Dutch nature conservation organisation that protects a network of nature reserves in the southern part of the Netherlands.
